The Maritime Academy of Nigeria, formerly known and addressed as the Nautical College of Nigeria, was established in 1979 by the Federal Executive Conclusion No.EC.(77) 172. It was designed as an integrated institution for the education and training of shipboard officers and ratings shore-based management personnel. They graduated its first batch of Cadets in 1983.

MEDICAL SCREENING FOR MARITME ACADEMY CANDIDATES
Medical examination would be conducted at the respective interview centres, candidates are therefore requested to come with the sum of 20,000.00 to take care of both medical examination and administrative costs. Candidates are expected to pay the above amount into Ministerial committee on Maritime academy of Nigeria, Oron Guaranty trust bank, Account/number: 322-3481736110, and present teller during interview.
NOTE:
Note that foreign students of Maritime academy of Nigeria [MAN] do not pay the same school fees for their respective programme.
